Founder of The Bailiwick Academy

Marie Grace Parazo is the founder and CEO of The Bailiwick Academy, a pioneering online baking and cooking school that now educates over 6,000 students globally.

Before launching the online learning platform, Grace worked in a BPO company where she saw a gap between culinary instructors and students. With a technical background supported by eight years in the computer engineering profession and a love for eating, she found the perfect way to bridge it.

In 2017, with just ₱400,000 of her and her husband’s savings, she risked it all to build The Bailiwick Academy. She cold-messaged a number of culinary professionals before a great local chef agreed to teach the very first class.

Under her leadership, the school has grown to feature more than 30 instructors, including chefs based abroad. The academy has a dual mission that does not just teach cooking or baking, but also empowers students to build food businesses. Around 40% of students use their training to start side hustles or open full-time bakeries, while others apply it for personal use for their families.

Grace's credentials are rooted in her formal culinary training. Having studied at Heny Sison Culinary School and at the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM), she is equipped with both technical and practical mastery.

Today, Bailiwick has over 6,000 students worldwide. Courses range from P999 to P10,000, lasting from 15 minutes to 10 hours.
